The are many places to set freight, if your freight is not working as you'd expect, its not that the CMS is broken, its most likely a freight configuration issue.
It is considered paid consultancy if you require a support person to work through your freight calculation needs. For free, support can help you add a simple flat freight fee for domestic region or international destination.
Trouble Shooting Guidelines:
- Has the product got a weight entered?
- Has the product overridden the default freight rules, either by disabling the general rules, or by providing their own freight fee?
- If no freight was calculated, consider if you have filter rules, have you considered all possible outcomes, eg where, the address entered is outside your possible regions, the weight is bigger/smaller than allowed? It's worth adding a last case scenerio called POA (Price on application), to ensure customers can order, and be quoted the delivery fee.
- Are you using a third party API? then what is the postcode of the sender and recipient? What is the total weight? How can all the items fit in a reasonable size box? The weight, volume and postcodes will determine the freight fee. Ask your courier about their pricing. Our pricing rules can also "add to", or "restric"t the couriers pricing, with minimum, maximum, free freight rules.
When setting up freight rules there are Domestic, International and Click and Collect options to get you started, plus advances / custom freight options available.
