Timeline to build your website

  1. Sign up online for our 30 day free trial
  2. Pick a web design template (just pick any template if you want us to custom design a "look and feel" for you)
  3. Select the types of pages you want included in your website, e.g. home, links, news, shopping cart, gallery, etc
  4. Enter your contact details
  5. Check your email for login details, and other helpful information.
  6. Login to our user friendly content management system (CMS) to enter your text and upload your photos.
  7. Ask for help if you need it
  8. Register your domain name (web address). The address will not go live until you pay for hosting. Fees apply.
  9. You can request customised web design or other professional help with your website. Fees apply.
  10. Time goes by... eventually you get all your information together. You can email or post the information if you want us to do it for you, or just enter it yourself online.
  11. Let us know when you want your website live. Hosting fees for the first month are payable in advance.
  12. Once your website is live, you can use our free search engine submission tool. Under "my options" tab, then "search engines" link.
  13. Login to the CMS whenever you want to update your website.
  14. Statements are sent monthly. Payment can be made by credit card, cheque, direct debit or internet banking.
  15. Lastly, you will need to market your website by traditional means. In reality, websites receive very few hits from search engines, unless you have something very specific to sell. You should consider your website the same as a brochure or a communication medium, that you distribute by links in emails and other printed materials.

 

The above process can happen at your own pace.  If you use work through these steps quickly you could have a live site in a matter of a few days.  You make want to check this list before going live

The short answer is you do, however you can't take our easy to use content management system with you
If the domain name is connected to another webspace, then please create a new webspace (using the same login email address as your existing site), then transfer the domain over from your other webspace, there is a domain setup option for that.
You may like to go live with a single custom placeholder webpage with your own graphics, or downgrade to this if you are going offline for a while.
Many help guides talk about clicking the (Page) Options tab. This is where it is located
