Videos hold the power that words and images do not. As more and more people create videos to share on their websites and social media accounts, finding a way to edit these videos quickly and cheaply becomes a priority. We thought we'd go one better than cheap, and found seven free video editing software programs to share instead!

A well crafted video can sell products and services like nothing else. When you've got a small business though, it's nice to be able to edit the videos you make for free. These seven video editing software programs will let you do just that:
1. OpenShot2. Avidemuix
Avidemuix is a good basic video editor, quite suited to those only wanting to do simple cutting and filtering tasks. It works on Mac and Windows devices and has a handy online forum if you get stuck.
3. Blender
Blender is a advanced free video editor and will let you draw in 2D or 3D. Definitely for experienced users, this open source software can work magic.
4. Natron
Natron works on both Mac and Windows devices, and like Blender, you can use it for VFX and motion graphics.
Freemake Video Converter is a basic video editor which works on Windows. As well as converting video files, it also has some basic editing features including adding subtitles and audio to a file.
6. iMovie
For Mac users, iMovie is easy to use and you can make 4K resolution movies with it.
7. Movie Maker
The Windows alternative to iMovie, it is also free and perfect for beginner video editors. Newer PCs do not have this installed by default anymore, so you will need to check your device.
Being open source, these seven video editors are free to use. They will require you to download the software first though, so do your checks first and make sure you are downloading genuine copies!
