Web Widgets will be exhibiting at the Small Business Expo in both Auckland and Wellington this year. The Auckland expo will be held from Wednesday 16th April - Friday 18th April.

There are over 200 exhibitors, all under one roof for three days, providing quality products and services to small-to-medium size business owners. There will be free seminars, specialist advice and mentoring.  It is the largest event held for business in New Zealand.

Now Fully Compatible With Firefox/Safari and Apple Macs

Our new V4 page editor is now live. It has a fresh new look and some new improved features. The new editor is compatible with IE6 and 7, Firefox and Safari, on both Windows PCs and Apple Macs. If you have any specific problems with any of the main browsers or operating systems listed above, please contact us asap.

Hopefully you will find the new form field wizard and table wizard more user friendly.  It also side-steps some of IE7's prompt blocking features.

One new feature is that you can now hyperlink a photo without having to reinsert the photo. Just remember to highlight the photo by dragging your mouse. It is not enough to just click the image.

Web Statistics Issues

Due to technical errors, unfortunately web statistics did not process properly for many customers on the 12th,14th,17th and 21st of February. If you use your statistics for revenue/advertising purposes, please make an adjustment for the missing days. Multiply your month totals by 1.14.

We have recently provisioned new dedicated equipment for processing web stats, which was the cause of the issue mentioned above. 

Web stats take about six hours to process, starting about 6am, and processed in alphabetical order.  If your domain name starts with 'Z', you might need to wait until lunchtime to see yesterdays stats. Web stats sometimes include an hour or two of todays stats from visitors in the early hours of the morning.

Some people may prefer to use web statistics packages like Google Analytics. They provide additional information not available on server based statistics packages such as the one used by WebWidgets. If you want to add Google Analytics to your website, please register directly with Google, then provide us with the special javascript tracking code. A fee of $20 applies for installing this tracking code on your website.

The Buy New Zealand Made is a privately owned member based organisation that companies join to access the iconic kiwi-in-a-triangle logo identifying New Zealand made products.

Due to the current Buy Kiwi made campaign initiatives, membership of the campaign has increased in size from 600 to over 1000 members.

With the increase in membership, It soon became clear that online access to the logo artwork was required.

Because the artwork is only available to members, Buy NZ Made needed a site that could limit access to certain pages by a member login. A new site also needed to be flexible enough to add additional content on a regular basis.

Web Widgets provided not only a very affordable solution but also an opportunity for the campaign to offer their members greater benefits.

Some of the additional member benefits which have proven to be extremely popular include:

• An online member directory, where members can display information, pictures and a link to their website and email enquiry form.
• Online ordering for their stickers and swing tags
• Artwork access
• A place to network with polls and forums.
• Online Bill payments including credit cards
• News, gallery and event pages for members and Buy New Zealand Made 
   

The ease with which we have been able to add additional content has been greatly beneficial to our upcoming 20th Birthday Competition in April.  Not only to provide information to the manufacturers who have donated over $35,000 worth of prizes but also to highlight all details of the prizes to the consumers.

The form builder is another feature that has been a blessing We use this for our membership applications, when we need to obtain additional information from our members or have offerings that require registration
